Source-first means showing the boundary of a claim. A record can be real and still have limits. Every public lesson should identify its source, access date, scope, rights basis, and remaining uncertainty.

What this shell is grounded in

The copy and product structure in this prototype follow the versioned Family Record Room Product and Funnel Playbook, Funnel and Product Prelaunch Readiness packet, and Account Creation Copy-Paste Kit in the project vault. Those materials are design hypotheses and readiness controls, not proof of market demand or launch authorization.

Proof-object policy

  • Use blank templates, synthetic records, rights-cleared examples, or permissioned/anonymized artifacts.
  • Label synthetic, illustrative, or hypothetical material where it appears.
  • Show the exact observation, interpretation, and unknowns; never hide an inference in a polished screenshot.
  • Do not use a real person's private record, photo, family tree, DNA result, or identifying detail without a documented rights basis.
  • Never present a screenshot as proof of a relationship, ancestry, revenue, conversion, buyer count, or professional credential.

Archives, registries, libraries, and government or institutional pages, cited with title, URL or call number, access date, and scope.

Local historical societies, finding aids, and community indexes, labeled for coverage and transcription limits.

Rights-cleared examples

Synthetic or licensed artifacts used to teach the method without implying a real family outcome.

Correction log

Version, review date, issue, source update, owner, and resolution status stay visible when a lesson changes.

How to read a source card

A useful source card records: title; custodian; URL or call number; access date; image or page; what was observed; what was inferred; what remains unknown; and which next search could change the working theory. “Unknown” is a valid result.

Use the corrections page. Please do not email the underlying family record or living-person details. Send the lesson/page name and a public source or general description instead.
